Photo Retouching

Submitting the entries: Each participant will sign up and upload the entry to the Intranet and will be able to check that the entry has been uploaded correctly.

Photo retouching is a technique, process and result of modifying the characteristics of an image using some type of digital tool that makes it possible to obtain another modified image.

Welcome to the first "Monsterize Me" photo retouching contest. I am sure that you have seen thousands of YouTube videos in which, by means of retouching, large cosmetics or fashion companies convert models into real goddesses with enormous eyes and impossible waistlines. This is our revenge!

Thanks to Cathleen Tarawhiti from New Zealand for being part of the jury evaluating your productions and for letting us use her stock for this year's retouch.
You will be able to use any of these beautiful images to give free rein to your creativity and imagination, converting them into figures from nightmare, any type of monster that lives in your imagination.

You can use the following links to download the image by clicking on the download button on the right:

You can retouch these images using any type of design program (Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Paint Shop Pro, etc.)

Maximum resolution: 1280x1024
Allowed formats: PNG (recommended) and GIF.

The author must include a minimum number of 5 previous working stages. The steps must be named this way: if the drawing is titled FOOBAR.PNG, the steps will be named FOOBAR01.PNG, FOOBAR02.PNG... FOOBAR10.PNG and FOOBAR11.PNG if including 10 steps, where FOOBAR01.PNG is the original photograph and FOOBAR11.PNG is the finished entry.

The previous steps will be shown to the jury and the public.

The sketches will be delivered along with TWO .txt files in a compressed file (ZIP):
-ONE with the details of the participant (Name, surname and telephone number).
-THE OTHER with a brief explanation (maximum three lines) of the programs and techniques used.

Only one entry per author will be allowed.

The presentation of the works will be carried out under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs use licence, even when the author indicates a different usage licence or none at all.
The works must be original and free of royalties. In addition, they must not have participated previously in any another contest.

A professional jury appointed by the organisation will evaluate the works submitted based on their technique, originality and artistic quality and eventually they may possibly declare the competition void if they deem that the quality of the works is insufficient.
The jury's decision is final.

Participation in the competition implies acceptance of its rules.
