Fast crimping

For hardware and technology fans, this year we're bringing in the Fast Crimping compo. What's the objective? Crimp both ends of an RJ-45 network cable in the shortest possible time. Of course, you must follow some rules, otherwise it would be too easy:

- The cable must be wired straight-through, not crossover.

- You must follow the standard color code used by our network guys: Orange/White, Orange, Green/White, Blue, Blue/White, Green, Brown/White, Brown. Part of the outer cable jacket must lie within the plug.

- The winner will be whoever crimps the cable in the shortest amount of time with the correct color sequence, as long as the cable works properly. We'll use a cable tester to check them.
