2009 activities

General rules for taking part

  1. Just one work will be accepted per category and person, except for demos and 64kb and 4kb intros.
  2. No previously elsewhere presented production (parties, internet, ...) will be accepted.
  3. The production's author must physically be at the party except for the Demo, 4K intro, 3D animation and 2D animation, 3D graphics, 2D graphics ad 4K executable graphics competitions. For the rest of competitions, if it were a teamwork, at least one of the team members must attend the Euskal, to hand the production to organisers and take the prize in case it wins the compo.
  4. Productions must be presented before the deadline. Not even one will be accepted afterwards. Deadlines will be repeatedly announced voicewise or on screens.
  5. It will be possible to test demos and intros in the compo machine to verify they run correctly. Such test will be carried out in due order and as far as it is possible.
  6. You should take notice that incompatibility could occur between some video modes and the video projector. Unfortunately such a risk exists and cannot be foreseen.
  7. If needed, the computer will be reset to avoid incompatibilities with the previous demo.
  8. All demos and intros must be able to abort by pressing the ESC key. Productions that don't fulfill this rule will be disqualified.
  9. The organization keeps its right to disqualify any production with contents that are racist, of bad taste or any other issue that could hurt public sensibility.
  10. During the display of every compo entry at the Party, including Demos, graphics and music, it won't be allowed to play any type of sound or make any noise that could annoy the audience. Should anyone repeatedly break this rule, the organization keeps its right to force them to stop or even expel them from the party.
  11. We'll have a dedicated server for production delivery. The productions can also be delivered in disks and also in CD-ROMs, but in no other format, i.e. productions delivered in ZIP, JAZZ, Magneto-optics, VHS or hard disk will NOT be accepted.
  12. The sound table will be untouchable for anybody not belonging to the organization. The table will be adjusted the same way for everybody at the music compos, and also in demos, intros, etc.
  13. No machine will be accepted to show any work (including Demos, Intros, etc.) except those setup by the Organization (PC/Windows category). All productions must run in one of the organization's machines in order to get acceptance for one of the compos.
  14. Anybody can present productions out of competition, because it doesn't fulfill some rules or just because its author prefers it. Productions presented out of competition will be shown and distributed in the same way as any other production presented to a competition.
  15. All productions, without exception, will be spread after the prize ceremony, even if they are not final versions, and without requiring authors' permission.
  16. All the productions can attach a license.txt file. If they don't or if the included license is more restrictive Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs license will be applied.
  17. Should there be less than 3 productions for a category or should their quality be under prize-standards, organization might decide to cancel it, join it to a similar category or just distribute the prize money among other categories in which productions where more and of higher quality.
