Other activitiesEXTREME OVERCLOCKThis year's edition of Euskal Encounter will have an interesting milestone in which national champions Crazy Salters Team and Unknown Team will make an extreme Overclock exhibition by showing their skills and by taking their machines to the very limit. Both teams will try and explain in a talk what does extreme overclock consist of, and by the way they will also show some of the techniques and material they use, such as cooper containers or neopren. They will also try and answer all the questions you might ask, and give you a few tips so that you can also start overclocking. Once we are all familiar with te issue, the exhibition itself will start inside close premises. The teams will freeze their machines: amazing will it be to look at smoking "pots" when acetone and dry ice powder react. This way processors will reach -60ºC. What is more, we will be able to see how unbelievable results are achieved with any type of processor and graphic card. Can you imagine a 7900 GTX SLI and a FX57 all of it freezed up with dry ice powder? Or a Conroe over 4.0 Ghz? Shall we see a Yonah? MOD XPRESSGinkler, Ciberfriky, Skunk, Cupra, Lazka and Opositivo belong to the E&M, a group which deals in modding and electronics and has an active presence in the www.mod-pc.com forums.This team will perform live a complete mod in the Euskal Encounter's Modding workshop. For three days and helped by many gadgets and tools, they will fight a single and anonimous PC box, and their goal will be no other but turn it into the desired object for the rest of PC's in the party place. We all know we can achieve a 15-minute-glory, but we are not that sure these six modders will manage to get such a radical change in just three days. It will be wait and see. For this adventure the team will count on any kind of tool: dremel, drill, rotaflex, metal fixer, hot-air-gun, iron flatteners and anything else you might imagine. They will set a window, some methacrylate holders, and a complete freezing system. This list could obviously be longer, but they want to keep some of the information for themselves so that they can astonishe us all in the party. What is more they will not only show us the result of it, but they will also share their secrets with attendants as requires the sharing philosophy of Euskal Encounter. Again, not only these, a web will make a complete investigation of the whole process. a detailed description will be given, and endless photos displayed so that we can all learn and remember. |
