Official notice

GameGune, Euskal Encounter's professional gaming event, gets this year to its third edition. In this last two years we have managed to place the GameGune in the highest level, taking a serious position in all european gamers agenda. Our target is still the same, we want to work in order to offer to european gamers a highest level competition where we all can enjoy and have as much fun as possible. GameGune 2005 will take place in the Bilbao Exhibition Center ( Ansio, Vizcaya ) since July 22nd until July the 25th, during and inside the events of the Euskal Encounter. It will be done in a separate place next to the main party and with computers supplied by the organization of the event.

As last year, the choosen game for the contest is Counter Strike 1.6 and there will be 32 teams. They will play a first group phase and after that the contest will carry on in a dobule eliminatory contest. Those will be the prizes:

  1. 10.000€
  2. 6.000€
  3. 3.000€
  4. 1.000€

If you want a seat in the GameGune for your team you can choose one of two ways, the difficult one is getting an invitation from the org ( you can request an invitation from the org writting to mauve@euskal.org) and the easier and more glorious one, you can achieve the seat if your team is the winner of a classificatory event.

The main goal of those classificatory events is to offer all the spanish team's that during last years exposed their interest in playing in the GameGune a chance. If you are interested in organizing a classificatory event you should write to mauve@euskal.org giving this information:

  • Name and description of the event.
  • Estimated date, place and infrastructure.
  • Number of playing teams and some information about them (for example the name of the teams).
  • A list of confirmed supporters.
  • Documentation about previous editions of the event or information about similar events organized by the same people.
  • A list of the prizes.

In order to become a classificatory event for the GameGune 2005 the event should pay at least the ticket to play in it to 6 of the members of their winning team. It will also be positively evaluated the fact of paying the travel costs to the winning team. The organization of the GameGune will check all the proposed classificatory events and will send an answer to all of them as soon as they make a decision.

Cheers! See you on GG2005! :]
